Why the Rongai Route works
The Rongai Route ascends Kilimanjaro from the less-trafficked north face near the Kenyan border, offering a less crowded, less rainy, and gentler-grade climb than the southern routes.
Built-in time at Mawenzi Tarn allows for solid acclimatization before the lunar saddle traverse to Kibo Hut and the midnight summit push to Uhuru Peak (5,895 m).
Transfers: Road transfer from Moshi to Rongai Gate, full porter and guide support on mountain

Rongai is one of the drier routes year-round. The strongest weather windows are January-March and June-October, with clearer summit conditions and less mud on the lower forest sections.
