Day 1:
Arrival in Kigali
Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative and later transfer you to your hotel.
Day 2:
Kigali City Tour
Following breakfast, check out and head out for a city tour. The inema Arts Gallery and the Kigali Genocide Memorial are among the highlights of the enlightening city tour that follows. It is essential to visit the Genocide. Rwanda’s remarkable comeback narrative has made them an inspiration despite the country’s traumatic past haunting it for years. Honoring those who have died, the Genocide Memorial serves as a sobering reminder to all in attendance. You will be provided with audiovisual equipment. The Inema Centre is a thriving, colorful center that promotes artistic expression for Rwandas social, economic, and personal development enlivening the nation and its people. After lunch, you will head back to your hotel in Kigali.
Day 3-4:
Kigali to Volcanoes National Park
After a lavish breakfast at your hotel, drive to Akagera National Park bordering Tanzania in Eastern Rwanda. It is central Africa’s largest protected wetland and the last refuge for savannah-adapted species in the country. Upon arrival, enjoy your lunch and later you can have a game drive or spend the afternoon at leisure. Dinner and overnight at your accommodation.
Day 5:
Akagera National Park to Volcanoes National Park
After lunch, you will be transferred to the helipad for a breathtaking helicopter flight to Volcanoes National Park via Kigali. Rwanda is known a the land of a thousand hills because of the undulating grassy landscape. Your journey culminates at a nice Gorilla nest resort. Your evening in the jungle is at leisure including a delicious dinner and overnight stay.
Day 6:
Volcanoes National Park
After an early breakfast, set off for a full day of discovery. After receiving the Golden Monkey trek briefing at the park headquarters at 7 a.m., you will be driven to the Trailhead in preparation for your guided walk at around 8 AM. You will spend an intriguing hour with the habituated monkey families as they go about their everyday lives after the incredible trekking procedure, which often takes around four hours. Later return to your accommodation for lunch followed by a cultural village visit in the afternoon.
Day 7:
Gorilla Trekking
Early morning breakfast before heading to the park’s headquarters for the gorilla trek briefing. With the help of your guide, you will transfer to the starting point for this amazing adventure. With only an estimated 880 gorillas left in the world, seeing these gentle creatures in their natural habitat are truly a unique moment. The trekking may take from as long as 30 min to 6 hours depending on the group that you are tracking. Once you encounter them, you are allowed to stay with them for one hour playing and taking photos with them. After this memorable experience, return to your accommodation for lunch and an afternoon at leisure. Dinner and overnight at your accommodation.
Day 8:
Volcanoes National Park to Nyungwe National Park
After your breakfast, check out and transfer to the airstrip for a scenic flight to Nyungwe National Park where the largest mountain forest in East and Central Africa is found. On arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel for lunch. In the afternoon, you are free to carry out some activities that you may wish. Later dinner and overnight at your accommodation.
Day 9:
Chimps Trekking
With your packed breakfast, drive to the park headquarters for a chimpanzee trek briefing. With the help of a ranger, start your trekking adventure of these playful and human-like creatures. You may be even be welcomed by chimp morning calls deep in the forest. Upon encountering them, you can stay in their presence for one hour as you enjoy their day-by-day characters. Later, head back for lunch and the afternoon will be at leisure.
Day 10:
Canopy Walk at Nyungwe
After breakfast at the resort, you will drive once again to the park headquarters for the canopy walk briefing. The canopy walkway consists of three bridges and three towers with a total length of 200m. On this journey, your expert guide will not only reveal the forest canopy but also explain why it is an integral part of the tropical rainforest ecosystem. After this insightful tour, you will return to the resort for lunch. The afternoon is again at leisure. Enjoy your last dinner and overnight stay.
Day 11:
Nyungwe National Park to Kigali
Enjoy a relaxed breakfast at your resort. The morning hours will be at leisure before enjoying your last lavish and hot lunch. Later, check out and transfer to the airstrip to catch a flight to Kigali. End of your unforgettable Adventure full of memories.
