Main Info

The giraffe center has serious aims. Run by the African fund for endangered wildlife (AFEW), It has successfully boosted the population of the rare Rothschild’s giraffe from an original nucleus of Animals that came from the herd near soy in western Kenya. The center's other main mission is to educate people about conservation of wildlife in Kenya.

Nairobi Giraffe Center Visit

The giraffe centre is the puplic side of giraffe Manor, so if you are staying at the latter, you will have an even closer engagement with the giraffes from your table in the breakfast room or even through your brdroom window. If you`re not able to stay at giraffe manor, the AFEW giraffe Centre is a rewarding alternative. You`ll get some great mug shots from the girafee- level observation tower (note the viewing platform faces west, so be prepared for the lighting), where the elegant, slow-motion giraffes push their huge heads through to be fed the pellets you`re given to offer them.
There are various other animals around, including a number of warthogs, and a wooden 95-acre (40-hectare) nature sanctuary across the road, which a good area for birding.
You can visit giraffe from any of the hotels around Nairobi city on any day of the year. No pre- booking is required. If you`re staying at giraffe monor, your visit to the platform is included free of charge. If you are staying at another hotel, we will book a driver guide and a private car for you, and you can incorporate other Nairobi visits into the same half- or full day private vehicle. The guide will pick you up and drop you back when you choose.
Age restrictions: None, but children need to be under control.
Availability: You can request to book a visit in advance when booking your safari with Simba Pak safaris.
Please note: Simba Paka Safari only books excursions as a part of a full, Simba Paka Safaris itinerary

    What Others Say About Us

I recommend Simba Paka Safaris. We had a great experience at the Maasai Mara with our guide who was extremely knowledgeable and managed to help us see all the animals that we wanted to see. Diana B
I did the 4 day Masai Mara and Lake Nakuru safaris. From start to finish, Simba Paka Tours was professional, reactive, and great at communicating all facets of the trip. I did the mid-range tour and Paul organized my hotels on arrival and departure, transfers, and the best tour guide possible. If you do this tour and you get Johnny Jackson as a guide, you will be very lucky. Hellen W
Amazing Safari! We did a Safari with Paul and his staff, 5 days in Masai Mara. It was a wonderful experience, that allowed us to see all the Big Five thanks to our guide's ability! Paul is very gentle and professional. I recommend it very much for a unique experience. Sabina F
Mr. Paul is a very friendly and just a gentlemen person. We did a 7-day Kenya safari and we not only saw the big 5. Following advice from Paul from Simba Paka Safaris we went to the following national parks; Nakuru, Masai Mara, Amboseli, and Lake Naivasha. Bhagwan S
We did a 7-day Safari from Masai Mara over Lake Nakuru and Lake Naivasha to Amboseli. First of all, our driver/guide Francis was wonderful! He was super engaged, always attentive, and made sure we got the best possible views and pictures. When we asked for something, he immediately ensured it was sorted out. Max F
