7 Days Machame Route Mount Kilimanjaro, nested within the Kilimanjaro national park in Tanzania, is a mountain standing 5895m high and is famous for being the biggest mountain in Africa. your journey begins in the town of Moshi located very close to the mountain and from here you will be transferred to your starting point, Machame Gate. After a night at Machame camp, your first two days are spent trekking along the rainforest, moorland, and arid rocky terrain with an overnight at both Shira camp ( 3840m ) and Barranco camp ( 3950m ). Days 4 and 5 include tackling the great Barranco wall and views of Heim glacier above the clouds.
Day 6 is the climax and undoubted highlight of the adventure as of after 8 hours of intense hiking you make it to the highest point , uhuru peak ( 5895m ) . you then begin your descent all the way to mweka camp for your overnight and finish the trip at mweka gate on day 7 .

Itinerary
Day 1 : Machame Gate ( 1490m ) – Machamae Camp ( 2980m )
After an early breakfast, you will be picked up from Arusha and driven to machame village where you can buy some some and a packed lunch. You later proceed to machame gate for registration and start your trek to machame camp reaching late afternoon.
Day 2 : Machame Camp ( 2980m ) – Shira Camp ( Shira Camp ( 3840m )

Day 3 : Shira Camp ( 3840m ) – Lava Tower ( 4630m ) – Barranco Camp ( 3950m )
After an early morning breakfast, you will leave the moorland environment and enter the semi desert and rocky landscape. After a 5 hours of walking, you will be at lava tower ( 4630m ) . after lunch you will descend from lava tower ( 4630 m ) to the barranco campsite ( 3950m ) . the descent to the camp takes around 2 hours to reach.
Day 4 : Barranco Camp ( 3950 M ) – Karanga Camp ( 3950m )
After an early morning breakfast, its now time to conquer the great barranco wall. Although it may look intimating at first glance. At the top of the wall you will be above the clouds. The trail then winds up and down in the karanga valley. Acclimatization is also ideal on this day.
Day 5 : Karanga Camp ( 3959m ) – Barafu Hut ( 4600m )
After breakfast, you will leave karanga camp. The trek intersects with the mweka route which is the route used to descend on the final two days. As you are trekking you will reach barafu hut. This is the last water stop for the porters because there is no accessible water at barafu camp. an early dinner will be served so hikers can rest before attempting the summit the same night.
Day 6 : Summit Attempt – Barafu Camp ( 4600m ) – Uhuru Peak ( 5895m ) – Mweka ( 3100m )
You will wake up at 23:30 for tea and some biscuits to begin your summit attempt. During the ascent many hikers feels that it’s the most mentally and physically challenging part of the climb .in about 6 hours you will reach stella point ( 5685m ) located on the crater rim. You will continue ascending to uhuru peak ( 5895m ) . you will spend some time at the summit before descending down at barafu camp where you will relax and enjoy your lunch before descending to mweka hut ( 3100m ).
Day 7 : Mweka Camp ( 3100m ) – Mweka Gate ( 1980 M )
After enjoying your breakfast, your staff will have a big celebration full of dancing and singing. After celebrating, you will descend to mweka gate and get your certificates. After, you will be transferred to your hotel.
