3 days of wildebeest Migration will make you discover the Masai Mara Game Reserve, the most popular tourist destination in Africa Kenya. Located in the Great Rift Valley, the is regarded as the jewel of Kenya`s wildlife viewing areas. The annual wildebeest`s migration, involving more than 2 million wildebeests, Zebras, and antelopes in July and departing in October or early November, is a phenomenal spectacle that can only be seen in the Masai Mara Game reserve. Most tourists will have the opportunity to spot one of the Big five- Lions, leopards, elephants, buffalos, and rhinos.
Wildebeest Migration happens every year almost 2 million wildebeest, Zebra, Topi, and antelope migrate from Serengeti Plains Tanzania to the lush rolling grasslands of the Masai Mara (meaning Masai plains) in Kenya. Many animals falling prey to African lions, leopard, cheetah not forgetting the crocodiles which lie in wait each year for that first wildebeest to cross the Grumeti and Mara Rivers.
Each Year, the patterns change, however see below for an idea of where the wildebeest migration will be at certain times of the year.
Some camps are inside the reserve where it gives tourist good opportunities to experience and have fun.
Not all camps are listed, although every camp in the Masai Mara Kenya and the Serengeti Tanzania will be in the center of the wildebeest Migration at one point during the year.
December- March: Ndutu, Southern Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater. Over 80% of the wildebeest are busy giving birth on the lush flat grassland of duty, attracting a lot of attention from hungry predators, before beginning their journey all over again.
From December- March you are most likely to catch the wildebeest migration at Serengeti Maswa, Olakira.
April – May- The Ndutu plains can no longer sustain the wildebeest, with new born calves and the migration begins to move to North in the Serengeti`s Western corridor.
From April –May: You are most likely to catch the wildebeest migration at: Olakira, Sabora, Faru Faru.
June: The wildebeest move North again, entering the Lamai wedge in the northern Serengeti.
In June you are most likely to catch the wildebeest migration at: Lamai .
July – October you are most likely to catch the wildebeest migration at Mara River.
November: The arrival of eats Africa1s short rains pull the wildebeest back to Serengeti to the Northeast before making way back to the Southern Serengeti and Ndutu plains.

You will be picked up from your place of stay in Nairobi city at 0700 hours, the drive to Masai Mara Game reserve via the Great Rift Valley with a stopover at the viewpoint for breathtaking views. After check-in at your hotel/camp, depart for your sunset game drive in the Masai Mara Game reserve. Thereafter drive back to the camp for a sumptuous buffet dinner and bonfire.
Stay overnight in a big tent that has a bed, linen, shower, and washroom inside. Mosquito nets and a hot shower in the evening are provided.
Wildebeest migration day 2: Explore Masai Mara
Spend the full day exploring the Masai Mara Game reserve in search of the big five and other wild animals. Enjoy picnic lunches in the reserve as you discover the beautiful banks of the Mara River. After the game drive, you will return back to the camp in the evening for your dinner and overnight.
Wildebeest Migration day 3: Masai Mara Nairobi
Enjoy the last pre-breakfast game drive. Then drive back to Nairobi where upon arrival you will be dropped back at your city center accommodation.
Upgrade your tour to include a hot air balloon ride. If you book a hot air balloon you will be picked up by the balloon safari jeep and drive to the launching area. Drift over the Masai Mara Game Reserve as you view the animals, take in the amazing sunrise with a buffet and Champagne breakfast. Alternatively, include an evening visit to the local Masai Village for a cultural tour. Learn about Masai Community and interact with them.
