This Safari explores three of Africa's most unforgettable wildlife destinations - Masai Mara National, Serengeti National Park and Zanzibar.

Stay in comfortable lodges and tented camps while game viewing in two of the world's most legendary safari countries, Kenya and Tanzania.

This ultimate game viewing safari takes you into the quintessential bush landscapes of Africa, where an abundance of wild animals roam freely on the open plains.

At the end of the day, we return to Camp (or similar) for dinner and another overnight stay.

Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi - Masai Mara

On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport you will be met by our company representative, briefed before departing for Maasai Mara National Reserve. You will have an en-route game drive through the park as you proceed to Mara Eden Camp for check-in and lunch. Rest/leisure at the camp. At around 1600hrs you will have an evening game drive, the best time to get a glance of the predators as they crawl out of their shadows.
Dinner and overnight at the Camp on Full Board basis.
Meals: Lunch & Dinner.

Day 2: Masai Mara - Fullday

After breakfast you will enjoy morning and evening game drives around the reserve. Maasai Mara is considered Kenyans prime wildlife area home to over 450 species of birds including the Kenyans national bird, the Lilac-breasted roller bird. The acacia dotted plains create scenery of stunning beauty where lions are found in abundance, elephants, buffaloes, Black rhinos, giraffes, genet cats, roam antelopes, leopards, cheetahs & Black-manned lions. A drive to the famous Mara River will give you the chance to see the huge crocodiles basking on the sun. During the wildebeest migration which comes every year in the months of June & July this Mara River turns to a valley of death where only the strong survive. Zebras, antelopes & wildebeest cross into Mara to seek greener pastures but the crocodiles lie in wait to feast on the weak one.

Day 4: Masai Mara - Serengeti

Breakfast at the lodge, you will drive through the southern part of Maasai Mara reserve as you proceed to Serengeti via Tanzania border at Isebania / Sirari. You will be assisted by your driver-guide to clear customs. You will have picnic lunches on the way at the picnic site. You will arrive at Serengeti as the day heat cools off having an en-route game drive to the camp.

Day 5: Serengeti Fullday

After breakfast you will enjoy full-day game drives. Serengeti national park has rewarding bird viewing with ostrich and Kori bastard being common, variety of larks, finches and raptors. Serengeti shares the same eco-system with Maasai Mara hence there are plenty to watch. All meals and Overnight at the Camp.

Day 6: Serengeti - Ngorongoro

Breakfast at the lodge, you will have an en-route game drive through Serengeti as you proceed to Ngorongoro conservation area. Ngorongoro crater is a world heritage site and the world`s largest unbroken volcanic caldera which is often referred to as the 8th wonder of the world. You will enjoy breath-taking views of scenery and game can be witnessed from both the crater rims and within the crater.

Day 7: Ngorongoro – Local Experiences with Hadzape Bushmen at Lake Eyasi.

After breakfast, embark for a morning hunt, a haunting experience that reveals the phenomenal skills of these ancient people and the Tanzanias remarkable residents. Indigenous hunters and gatherer tribes still exist in East Africa (just) and you’ll enjoy a full day of memorable cultural immersion. The nimble Hadzape Bushmen sidestep through the trees, picking up on every clue as they stalk a small antelope. You can also see the clues; an upturned stone, a line of animal droppings, a slight indent in the grass. But the bushman spots them without breaking stride, eyes always scanning ahead, the path of the prey continually visualized, they do still use a homemade bow and arrow. This is a place of tranquility, harmony, and getting involved with local tribes. The Hadzape hunter-gatherers use an ancient click dialect, while the waDatonga villages remain unchanged for millennia.

Day 8: Local exoerience with the Maasai tribe.

Immerse yourself in authentic Maasai culture as you visit a traditional village, accompanied by an English-speaking guide who lives there himself. Find yourself in the midst of the daily hustle and bustle of local life as you witness the daily rituals of the Maasai. Once you have drunk your fill of this authentic cultural experience, you can choose to browse through the Maasai Craft Centre and purchase artefacts made by the people you encountered. All proceeds from this go directly to the community. Living a semi-nomadic lifestyle, the Maasai tribe has modernised in some ways but still adheres to many aspects of their traditional culture. Established as fierce warriors, their lively cultural dance, vibrant clothing and beautifully crafted handiwork are recognised worldwide. The Maasai used to move nomadically with their herds to abundant lush pastures but these days they have built permanent huts or bomas and prefer to stay in once place. They are pastoralists cattle is essential to their way of life. A mans success is measured by the number of cattle and offspring he has. As great a status and show of wealth the cattle are, they are also a vital food source. This glimpse of authentic Maasai culture is a fascinating experience of an ancient way of life that still flourishes today. Transfer to the airport for your flight to Zanzibar. On arrival at Zanzibar our Representative will pick you up from the Airport and transfer you to the Hotel.

Day 9—Stone Town City Tour

Morning at 09:00am have the Stone Town City Tour takes around the historical culture and architectural important town of Zanzibar with a century history. It includes a visit to former slave market site, now stands as Anglican church built in 1871, town market, visit the Zanzibar Memorial Museum, House of Wonder built in 1883 (Beit-Al-Ajab), Old Arab Fort, Palace Museum, Old Indian dispensary (Cultural Center) to Maruhubi Palace Ruins via Living Stone House.
At 02:00pm trip to Spice Tour on this tour you will see and taste the tropical fruits, spices plantation or plots in the island. A variety of spices plants used as ornament, medicines, flowers, fruits and another interesting flora can be seen during spice tour and visit to Kidichi bath built in 1850 by the first Sultan for his wife Sheharzad (grand daughter of Fateh Ali Shah of Persia.

Day 10—Sailing and Snorkeling

At 9:00 am Trip to Safari Blue.A full day sailing/snorkeling/sunbathing on a traditional dhow and seafood barbecue. Setting sail from Fumba, you will explore the Menai Bay where dolphins are often sighted. When dropping the anchor at Kwale sandbank, you can snorkel the coral reefs. At Kwale Island you’ll be served a buffet of grilled fish, lobster, calamari, chickens and coconut rice. The boat sails to a stunning natural lagoon where there is opportunity to swim before the day is over.

Day 11—Prison Island Boat Trip

At 9:00pm have a tip to Prison Island Boat Trip a home of Aldabra Giant Tortoises. Flanged by an amazing beach of reef sanctuary, the island is ideal for swimming, snorkeling and beach relaxation return to stone town. at 2:30pm driving to Jozani Forest Tour for Red Colobus Monkeys, natural forest, and mangrove forest and the living species of fish under Neath and back to town for dinner and overnight at your hotel.

Day 12: Zanzibar —Mafia Islanda.

Depart by flight from Zanzibar 09:30am, arrive Mafia at 11:15, meet and greet by resort representative and transfer to the lodge. WHALE WATCHING – During the months of September and August we experience the Humpback Whale migration in the south of Mafia as they head for warm waters with their calf’s. These magical creatures can grow up to 14 meters long and weigh a whopping 40 tonnes! Humpbacks are renowned for their magical songs which travel for great distances. These songs are complex and often continue for hours on end. They migrate annually from the cool polar waters to the warmer waters near the equator to mate and nurse. The most breath-taking moments with these whales is watching them breach, throwing themselves out of the water to land with a tremendous splash. They also slap their fins and tails in a playful manner putting on a super show. We usually combine the chance to spot these magical mammals with a Mange sandbank trip. After a couple of hours of whale watching we go for a quick snorkel and then a relaxing fish BBQ and picnic on the picturesque patch of sand.

Day 9: After leisurely breakfast, transfer to Mafia for a flight to Dar Es Salaam by flight 15:45 to get your connection flight to your home.
