Lake Nakuru National Park

Lake Nakuru National Park

Lake Nakuru National Park lies on the floor of the Great Rift Valley, surrounded by wooded and bushy grassland.  Visitors can enjoy the wide ecological diversity and varied habitats that range from Lake Nakuru itself to the surrounding escarpment and picturesque ridges.

The park’s main feature is a large shallow lake supporting great birdlife, including a big flock of pelicans and variable flocks of flamingoes, making it famous.

It offers easy wildlife viewing of most big safari animals, with the expectation of elephants, black and white rhinos, giraffes, buffalo, and hippos, and if lucky, visitors might spot lions that occasionally climb trees.

Lake Nakuru NP has breathtaking scenery. The Rift Valley escarpment, dotted with euphorbia trees, rises from the lake shore.

Lake Nakuru National Park is ideal for bird watching, game drives, hiking, picnics, camping, sundowners, nature walks, and photographic safaris, among others.
