10 Days Rwanda – Uganda: Discover primate Habitats and African wildlife safari is centered on venturing on a 10-day safari into two East African tourist hotspots which are Rwanda, his creature “the land of a thousand hills” and also Uganda well known to be the home to the primates mostly the Mountain Gorillas or more so, ” The Pearl of Africa”. 5 Days Ngorongoro, Serengeti Flying Safari

DAY 1: ARRIVAL & TRANSFER TO HOTEL

Upon your arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our team in Rwanda where then you will be transferred to your reserved hotel. You will then be allowed to spend the remaining part of the day relaxing as you refresh from your journey. Dinner and overnight will still be at the hotel.

DAY 2: KIGALI CITY

You will start of your day with a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial where over 250,000 souls were laid in 1994 after they were massacred resulting from the killing of the President back then. From there you will make a stop over at King’s Palace Museum which is a royal dwelling that was a masterful homage in the past. You will also get to venture into the Ethnographic Museum located in Butare where you will be immersed in the cultures of the Rwandese people. You will get then to have your lunch and then proceed on with your journey to Lake Kivu whereby on reaching you will check-in to your accommodation and then spend the evening there as you get to enjoy the ambiance of the lake view. Dinner and overnight will be at the place.

DAY 3: NYUNGWE NATIONAL PARK

On this day, you will get to set off on a forest walk in search for primates such as the Grey-cheeked Mangabeys, Red-tailed Monkeys, L’hoest Monkeys, Black & White Colobus Monkeys but mostly you will be on the look out for the Chimpanzees (man’s closest cousins, infact we share about 98% genes). The search mostly takes around 40 to 4 hours, that is depending on when you encounter them, the Chimpanzees. You will then be allowed to spend an hour with them and then later head back to the park information center to have lunch and relax and then afterwards venture on an evening canopy walk. The suspended walk is usually breathtaking as you get to experience an exhilarating aerial view on the ancient treetops and various wildlife and also the birdlife for the bird lovers. You will then head back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

DAY 4: GISAKURA TEA ESTATE – VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK

 After breakfast, you will check out of you lodge and depart for Volcanoes National Park where you will have an en-route stop over at Gisakura Tea Estate. Here you will be able to learn how tea is picked and also get to try it your own, it is such a wonderful experience. You will then continue with your journey to Volcanoes National Park an incredible park that harbors diverse flora and fauna species including the Endangered Mountain Gorillas and the Golden Monkeys as well. On reaching you will first check in at your accommodation as you have your lunch and then later, visit the Iby’ Iwacu Cultural Village meaning Treasure of Our Home but mostly known as “Gorilla Guardians’ village”. Here you will get to experience a whole set of how life typically was and the practices that were done from dress codes, beliefs, traditional herbs and dances. Thereafter you will head back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

DAY 5: VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK – BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK

 After an early morning breakfast, you will head to the park’s information office for pre-trekking briefings to follow during the tour. From there you will begin the tracking for the Golden Monkeys which apart from Rwanda are only found in Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo that all share the Virunga Region. After the trekking safari, you will have lunch as you head on your way to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda which is worldly famous to host almost half of the remaining mountain gorillas. On reaching the border you will first be required border crossing formalities and then be allowed to cross over to Uganda as you proceed on with the journey. On arrival, you will check in as you relax and in wait for dinner and overnight.

DAY 6: BWINDI IMPENETRABLE FOREST NATIONAL PARK

On this day you will get to come across the very humongous beasts, the Mountain Gorillas, while in their normal habitats. They normally don’t like disturbance but they do love visitors as per said by the guides. Their family structure includes mostly one mature male (silverback) and a group of females with or without infants. On encountering them you will have the opportunity to take pictures as much as you want and observe their normal behaviors. After an hour of staying with them you will then return back to the information center where you will have your packed lunch as you start your way to Queen Elizabeth National Park. This park is home to over 618 bird species making it the 6th top leading birdlife habitat destination in the world and the leading in Africa making it the best spot for bird enthusiasts in Africa. Apart from that you will get to come across the unique tree climbing Lions, normally Lions usually do not climb trees like the Leopards but here you will get to encounter these special creatures. After the game drive, you will check in to your reserved lodgings where you will spend your overnight.

DAY 7: FULL DAY GAME DRIVE QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK

At the south western part of the park, is Ishasha sector. Here is where you will head for a game drive after breakfast, the only perfect spot in East Africa to spot the reality of the tree climbing Lions. Apart from the Lions, you will also be able to spot various wildlife species such as the African Buffaloes, Elephants, Ugandan Kobs, Warthogs, Spotted Hyenas among others. After the game drive, you will then head northern where you will first check in to your reserved accommodation as you take your lunch and later in the afternoon head visit Lake Katwe to learn and observe the traditional method of salt mining and then call it a day as you head back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

DAY 8: FULL DAY QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK

You shall begin off your day with an early morning game drive where it will be an opportune moment to come across a variety of species especially the predators such as the Leopard and the Lion as they come out of their hunting session or when ready to make a strike at their prey. After the morning game drive, you will then head back to your lodge where you will have your lunch and a session of personal time. Later in the afternoon you will then embark on a boat ride safari on the Kazinga Channel where you will get to encounter the hippos and the crocodiles among others as you get to explore the park along the channel. From there you will head on a short game drive as you get to enjoy the sunset in the wild and then head back to your lodge. Dinner and overnight will be at the lodge.

DAY 9: LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK

After a relaxed breakfast, you will check out as you head for Lake Mburo National Park which is home to 350 bird species as well as other wildlife species such as Oribi, Impalas, Zebras, Elands, Leopards among others. You will reach in time for lunch where you will first check in to your booked lodge as you re-energize for yet another African safari. The park despite it being the smallest national park in Uganda, it is also known to boost the highest numbers of Leopards in Uganda. You will get to venture in an evening game drive and get to enjoy the variety comparison of flora and fauna species and then later set off back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

DAY 10: LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK – ENTEBBE INTERNANTIONAL AIRPORT

 Early in the morning, get to start off the day with a jungle walking safari being guided by an experienced guide. This park, is one of the two national parks in Uganda that allows safari walks within the wildlife’s vicinity, how amaizing it is! leaving one with a lifetime experience. After the safari walk, you will get to have a game drive as you get to explore more of this park and then you will begin your journey to Entebbe Airport. You will get to make a stop over at Kayabwe Equator landmark where the equator lies and get to prove this through the water experiment. It is an amaizing experience and then thereafter you will conclude your 10 days jungle venture at the airport where you will be dropped off.
